Originally from Boston, with parents from Dominica, she learned music through self exploration. Inspired by her island upbringing and east coast life, she wrote her first song at eight years old. She credits Eve, Missy Elliot, Lauryn Hill, R&B girl groups and her mother’s shared favorite, Roberta Flack. She sang in a youth choir before debuting rap verses with a 90s hip-hop cover band throughout college.

Her debut, a soulful ballad titled My Fault, she describes as “by all means a bad gyal/sad gyal anthem.” Using her writing to cope with heartbreak and navigate womanhood she shares, “I’ve been able to save my own life with my music. I write in a way that makes me feel free, I try not to worry about how it could possibly be misinterpreted.”
